Had a blast playing and snapped a couple pictures. You'll get to see my Land Raiders in those in all of their glory (or lack thereof) :)Son of Dornhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04694742423899579008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2651382690697884330.post-67038095104936891422011-12-23T09:45:59.826-08:002011-12-23T09:45:59.826-08:00Those are some killer looking Land Raiders!

Not everyone has to have a "net" list.

Good luck at the event, let us know how it goes!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11344526503162639397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2651382690697884330.post-57248717801538076142011-12-14T23:52:42.816-08:002011-12-14T23:52:42.816-08:00Went and didn't do too great. Kind of ignored it because I'd already killed myself on saves, but he wound up tabling me in the long run.Son of Dornhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04694742423899579008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2651382690697884330.post-4110390608108906162011-12-14T22:24:53.173-08:002011-12-14T22:24:53.173-08:00One more thing I want to add, if something sounds ...One more thing I want to add, if something sounds overpowered it probably isn't in their codex. Have them show it to you. Tom learned that from the S9 AP2 Particle Whip. Those guys should have their asses kicked.Tiny_Sandwichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09577120253173743650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2651382690697884330.post-33953850202231560672011-12-14T22:15:09.439-08:002011-12-14T22:15:09.439-08:00I'm sure you've already thought about all ...I'm sure you've already thought about all this already though, but if you haven't here's my two cents.

Clever use of Bikes as mobile AT units. I would make sure your bikes have proper cover behind your vehicles as you move forward and remember to only spring out when you're within 12" and hopefully where another squad is in position to Nom anything that pops out. I'd also suggest keeping your Bikes together so that if one misses (or fails to expodenate [that's a technical term]) the vehicle you've another one to back it up. Everything will be moving at best 12" per turn with both landraiders shooting anything that's close. When you're army can slow down to 6" or less you'll be at the perfect killing speed.

Since your razorbacks are full of Tac Marines decked out for close/mid range shooting it'll be a good idea to drive them close.

The thing I don't like about tournaments is that fun is secondary to victory. Which means that people are bringing in the bullshit units Manticores, Doom of Malantai, etc... Get a judge of your opponent if they aren't stuck on winning then have fun. If they're a douche, be a douche back. You're only hurting yourself if you aren't. Spread your wounds, count those inches, make sure they run in the shooting phase. Especially that last one, it can make or break a mission. When deploying this is doubly important (Dawn of War walking on). Have your FAQ on hand and be ready to not only defend your rules the rules at large. People will try and take advantage of loop holes and gray spots all the time.

Now that I've scared you just remember technically your there to have fun and enjoy playing against people you don't normally play against (usually). You'll learn new tactics and things about your army and other armies you've never thought of. If you've got someone awesome on the other side then great, think of it like Sunday Warhammer and have a good time. Most 40k players aren't rule twisting dick holes whose only reason for being there is to win.

...sorry lots of shitty tournament players in my gaming history.Tiny_Sandwichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09577120253173743650noreply@blogger.com
