List Preview

Living large...

For this list preview, I thought I'd do something a little different. I recently stumbled upon an exciting list over at Dave 40k. Seeing it there, I've decided try testing it out, but with a few of my own modifications. :) So, let me lay it on you.

Composition Report:

Elite: 1 (0 - 3)
Troops: 4 (2 - 6)
Fast: 3 (0 - 3)
Heavy: 3 (0 - 3)

So, the general idea is to use the flexibility of the Scouts and Land Speeder Storms to either push forward and assault turn one, or outflank and sneak around as necessary. They also provide some close up anti-tank in the form of Multi-Meltas with some Combi-Melta's on the Scout Sgt.'s in case the BS 3 from the LSS's isn't enough to cut it.

The LSS's would move up and provide distraction while the Land Raider Redeemer moves up field with Terminator cargo. The amount of time to reach the enemy should work out to be just enough time for the Razorbacks to pop enemy tanks/transports, along with fire from the 2 Predators and the Land Speeder Typhoons. This should give the Terminators ample target squads to choose from while providing a rich target saturation for my own armored forces.

While all of this is happening, the 2 combat squads that are left can hang out in the deployment area in reinforced ruins (courtesy of the Techmarine and Lysander) along with the Thunderfire cannon. They can provide some anti-infantry or anti-heavy-infantry fire support or throw out some punishment on outflanking units who have their sights set on my objectives.

All in all, I think it's a really solid list and I'm curious to see how well all of the fast movers can work together and how well the LST's perform since I've not bothered to try them out before. Another curiosity is how well the Scouts perform with a mix of CCW and Shotguns. I've always wondered which is truly more effective and a nice mix seems like the best of both worlds. What are your thoughts? Any easy improvements that can be made?
